THE ONLINE RESUME GUIDE

A clearer story.
A stronger first impression.

Build a useful professional website around evidence: what you do, what you have made, and how someone can learn more.

Practical guidance. Your own evidence. No invented experience.

How to build an online resume

Create an account, choose a printable design, and add your name, professional title and preferred contact details. Use a short introduction to explain your work and the opportunities you want.

Choose your strongest material first. Experienced professionals may lead with work experience. Students can lead with skills, projects and internships. A section with no entries is omitted from the public page.

Starting without work experience? Read the student guide.

Turn experience into evidence

For each role, give its title, organization, dates, and a clear explanation of your contribution. Connect an action to an outcome. Include measurements only when you can support them.

Group skills meaningfully. A tool name is more useful when a project or experience entry shows how you used it. Avoid long unrelated keyword lists and unsupported proficiency ratings.

Link projects, code and working demos

Every project can include a main website, GitHub or another source repository, a live demo such as Streamlit, and a case study or notebook. Use public links that a reviewer can open without requesting access.

Explain the problem, your role, the tools used, and the outcome in the resume itself. Linked material adds evidence; readers should understand the project before leaving the page. Never publish credentials, private datasets, or confidential work.

Choose a professional web resume template

Atlas offers an editorial layout; Studio uses a dark creative canvas; Executive emphasizes leadership; Mono is precise and minimal; Horizon is bright and approachable; Folio suits academic work. Your printable template is a separate choice.

Use a real portrait only if you want to. The gallery uses a credited Pexels sample image, which is never assigned to your account. Check the layout with your own content on a narrow screen and in print preview.

Help search engines and AI services understand your page

Publish at your dedicated curriculumvitae.digital/in/username address. Add an accurate name, professional title, introduction, relevant skills, descriptive project names, and clear evidence. Public profiles render readable HTML on the server and include canonical URLs, structured profile data and share previews.

Opted-in profiles enter the sitemap. Public text and JSON-LD alternatives expose the same permitted snapshot. Search systems decide what to crawl, index, cite and rank. Special AI keywords or extra markup cannot guarantee inclusion.

Preview, publish and stay in control

Your editor and drafts require sign-in. Email and phone remain private by default. Select your public sections, portrait, location and indexing preference, then review the preview and publication confirmation.

Publishing creates a snapshot. Later edits stay private until you publish again. You can take the profile offline and keep the address reserved. Previously indexed copies can take time to disappear.
